Please include your owner number (shown on your revenue statement), the property or well name, and a daytime telephone number with every request. Requests that change how or where you are paid must be submitted in writing and signed by the owner of record.
Revenue payments and statements
Revenue statements accompany each payment and identify the property, the production month, the product, volumes, price, deductions and your decimal interest. Payments are issued when the accumulated balance meets the minimum threshold set out in your division order or lease, or at least annually where required by law.
If you have a question about a payment, please reference the property name, the production month and the amount in question.
Change of address
Address changes must be submitted in writing and signed by the owner of record. Please provide:
- Owner name and owner number
- Previous address and new address
- Telephone number and email address
Payments are issued by check to the address of record, so please notify owner relations promptly of any change.
Transfer of ownership
Ownership changes are made only on the basis of a recorded instrument. The document must be filed of record in the county where the property is located, and a copy provided to owner relations along with the new owner's address and W-9.
- Sale or gift: recorded deed, assignment or conveyance
- Death of an owner: death certificate together with recorded probate documents, or an affidavit of heirship recorded in the county where the property is located, depending on the estate
- Trust: recorded conveyance into the trust and the trust's tax identification
- Change of name: marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order
Division orders
A division order confirms your decimal interest in a property and your payment details before revenue is distributed. Please review it, sign it and return it promptly. Questions regarding a decimal interest should reference the property name and the instrument under which you claim the interest.
Tax forms
A completed Form W-9 is required for every payee. Where a valid W-9 is not on file, federal backup withholding applies to payments. Form 1099 tax statements for reportable payments are issued annually. If you require a replacement 1099 or a corrected address on a 1099, please contact owner relations.
Suspended funds
Revenue may be placed in suspense when title is unclear, a division order or W-9 is outstanding, an address is undeliverable or a transfer is pending. Providing the outstanding documentation releases the funds. If you believe a payment is being held, please contact owner relations with your owner number.
The information above is general in nature and is not legal or tax advice. Owners with questions regarding title, estates or taxation should consult their own attorney or tax advisor.
